Madrid has two cities nearby which are great to explore in a day trip: Toledo and Segovia.

1) Visit the Retiro and Puerta de Alcalá at its entrance

2) Walk through the center (Plaza del Sol, Plaza Mayor, San Miguel Market, Opera and Royal Palace)

3) Temple of Debod (Best at sunset)

4) Discover Malasaña (more alternative neighborhood) and end up in Gran Vía (Street of theaters and shops)

5) Museums: El Prado, Reina Sofía and Thyssen
